At approximately what age do kittens get their adult teeth?

Also, if anyone knows other any other good ways to tell the age of a kitten, I would love to hear them. I%26#039;m trying to roughly determine the age of my kitten; she is a stray that I rescued, and I assume she is quite young but I am not sure.

Kittens start losing their baby teeth around 4 - 6 months. Most of the time we never realize it and sometimes you will find a tooth on the floor or you will see two teeth in the same spot. First time it happens it can freak you out.....(smile) They do it very easily and will even paw their face sometimes if one is stuck, but they come out ok.





The best thing to do is take her in for a %26quot;new baby%26quot; check up especially since she is a stray. Then all your questions will be answered.

Reply:They have those teeth all their life. They grow as the kitten grows, they aren%26#039;t like us. Their teeth don%26#039;t fall out, if they do they don%26#039;t grow back.
Reply:Actually, kittens teeth do fall out... and they grow new ones. Im just not sure at what age.
Reply:Your kittens baby teeth will be completly replaced by adult teeth by 5 or 6 months old(most baby teeth are swallowed).

Reply:Between 3.5 to 6 months of age as a rule and they lose different teeth at different times.





Normally the first teeth to go are the central incisors (middle teeth in the front of the mouth) at about 3.5 to 4 months of age. Next are the premolars and molars running on sides then the four canine teeth (they%26#039;re the sharp looking ones between the front teeth and premolars) about 5 to 6 months of age.








For the person who said cat%26#039;s teeth grow as they mature, they don%26#039;t. Cats do have deciduous teeth, they lose them as permanent teeth grow to replace them.





You usually don%26#039;t notice when they lose their teeth, you just suddenly see the new bigger ones. They swallow them it seems.

Reply:A cat has 26 baby teeth which they get at 4 weeks of age and 30 permanent teeth which start coming in at 11 weeks. At 30 weeks, (little over 6mo.) cat should have all adult teeth.
